Social Media Connections
Posted on January 27th, 2012 No commentsI discovered Facebook nearly five years ago. I had four friends after about six months until John Bonner asked me to add him as a friend, I was clueless as to why I should have friends I didn’t already know. At first I bocked, but then I thought, “what the heck?”
I decided to look to see who his friends were. I couldn’t believe it! I sawy Deepak Chopra, Mark Victor Hansen, Wayne Dwyer, Jack Canfield, Bill Mayer, Robert Kioyoski and I lost track of the number of well known personalities who were already John’s friends! I felt like I hit the jackpot!
I sat there for an hour requesting they add me as a friend. The next morning when I checked, I had 92 friends! Wow! What a great resource.
I kept up the routine and conducted conversations with the majority of those who accepted my friend request. But nothing developed from those relationships.
What did make a difference were the speakers and authors I connected with. I had six people offer to interview me on their radio programs; three who introduced me to International radio hosts and I was able to be interviewed in Canada, Spain and London.
What is truly amazing is I have better relationships with individuals on Facebook and LinkedIn than the relationships I created attending live networking events.
It is important to develop your relationships and maintain the connections. You will be pleasantly surprised at what you will be able to do in conjunction with your Social Media friends.

Blogging Connections
Posted on January 10th, 2012 No commentsI received a message from Jason Grilli about a week ago. He asked to connect with me and offered to talk with me live. Of course I agreed and waiting until this week to place the call.
It turns out Jason is a professional baseball player for the Pittsburgh Pirates and has been cultivating Internet Marketing contacts and is interested in creating an event based on Internet Marketing concepts. Jason is interested in including my Blogify course as one of the possible presentations.
It is interesting how someone who is a well known professional ball player would be interesting in talking with me about speaking at an event.
It was a great conversation and one we will continue. We will look into how we can collaborate on creating several events and make an outstanding effort in educating those who are also interested in using the Internet to create a great income.
I love making connections on the Social Media sites. Every once in awhile it surprises me that the contacts are absolutely amazing. They have incredible contacts and are well connected.
So out of trusting to call a contact on LinkedIn I not only have gained a great contact, but the possibility of a line of speaking engagements.
Always look at the possibilities when you are given the opportunity.
