New Bloggers

I got to work with a long time friend tonight who has never blogged. We had to move his original website over from the original host to one that is more friendly and easier to use.

The amazing thing is he is very intelligent, but not comfortable with computer usage. I’m a PC user and he uses a MAC. So when I had him call me on Skype, it was great to be able to use the “Share Screen” so I could see what he was doing.

It made it so much easier than guessing and trying to guide him blindly. It was so much better. It is always a challenge, trying to walk people through the blog development process, but it definitely is easier than what I used to have to do without it.

It took about an hour and we were able to open the new hosting account, move the site from one host to the other, register the site with 2 of the 3 top search engines. They are getting smart though, because you now have to have a gmail account to register your site with Google. Then you have to have a Yahoo account to register your site with Yahoo.  That has just happened in the past month.

But we did get his site up after about an hour delay in the Nameserver re-directs. So, we’ll follow his progress.

Stars Blogging

I noticed on Yahoo.com Punky Brewster star is blogging and making it a major income generator. She has turned her one million plus followers on Twitter the focus of a new business that focuses on what it’s like to blog as a mother.

She has found new ways staying in touch with other mothers and sharing her stories on what it’s like to be a stay at home mom.

This is a great new way for mothers who choose to stay at home develop an income and being a mother a way to connect with the rest of the world.

Whatever you’re interested in, you can turn that interest into an income stream by using a blog.

Most people start small but end up finding products and link services that coincide with their focus.

It has become a major attention getter among the media as well.  They love giving coverage to blogs that gain the attention of the masses. It still is a novelty for many but if you can a topic you are interested in, you will be able to generate an income in no time.

The best suggestion is however, create your own products so you can capitalize on your interest as well.
