  • Blog Results

One of my students emailed me twice since the class in August. She first said after two weeks her blog went from no rank  at all to 7 million. Last week she emailed again to let me know it is now at 5 million.

It’s great to hear about people who follow through on the information they learn from the class.

I’ve been doing the class since May, and have worked with about 50 bloggers so far. It’s odd the results are all over the board. I guess I shouldn’t be surprised, after all as one comedian professes, the bottom half of the class always makes the top half possible.

What confuses me is when someone’s business depends on being innovative and gaining new clients, why would they then ignore a simple technique like blogging which could increase their client base drastically.

So when I hear from those who post every week, leave back links on Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn I’m thrilled. That will make all the difference in the world for their blog’s visibility.

The higher ranking their blog achieves, the higher they’ll show up in the search engines. The higher they end up on the search engines, the more likely new people will find them when they’re loking for their services.

    It’s so logical and simple.

A long time friend and client Warren Boschin took my blog class in San Francisco the end of August. He’s been a client for 16 years and has been a great supporter of my business throughout the years. He’s taken my SpeakEasy and StreetSmartSales training courses and refers new prospects to me every single month.

Warren took the blog class because he wants to start speaking in the community again. About eight years ago when he first took the SpeakEasy course he was speaking about twice a month. It’s been more than a year since he’s done any speaking and I’ve always told my clients speaking is the number one method of getting new clients.

He talks about how to get visibility in the business community and how to build relationships. It’s valuable information for entrepreneurs and he has a blast speaking to the various chamber and service organizations.

The challenge is having the discipline to follow up on the weekly tasks, making sure you have all the right Widgets and Plugins. But it is also necessary to register your blog with the top three search engines: Yahoo, Google and Alexa.

If you’ve not heard of this before, you can download the Alexa Toolbar to track your ranking on Firefox or Explorer. It doesn’t work on Google Chrome however.

Unfortunately Warren’s blog isn’t ranked yet. He’s got some work to do.
