Tapping into News

One of the techniques I use every once in awhile to gain higher rankings is to use the Search Engine’s Top 10 List.

Today on Yahoo the Trending List is:

If you mention one or two of the most popular topics for the day in your blog you will be able to “draft” (pick up traffic and ranking from their popularity).

It is one of the greatest methods of tapping into more traffic as well as increasing your traffic. If you do this often, you will see a drastic improvement in your blog ranking.

Blog Results

My friend Ginger bought a website about 2 years ago for a project she is working on. The challenge is that like with many of us, life got in her way. Her mother became ill and she moved back to Fargo, North Dakota. She found a job, but the job required working 12-14 hours a day. She was too tired when she got home to work on her project or even manage others to do it for her.

While I was visiting in Ginger in Ajijic in March, I offered to convert her website to a blog and work my magic. Of course she agreed. Her Alexa ranking was 22,000,000. I added a few Widgets, Plugins, registered her site with the top three search engines and set up a guide for her to use Social Media sites to let others know what she is doing.

Before I left Ajijic, 9 days later, her Alexa Ranking was 10 million. Mind you, there is not a single word of content on her blog. Here it is six months later and she still hasn’t touched the blog and it is at 6 million.

Typically I recommend one Post, Video or Audio, post a back link on Social Media sites. That is the minimum to raise the raking of your blog to 1 million within 4 to 6 weeks.
